Exhibition

Add to calendar

Denmark's largest democracy festival celebrates community and respectful dialogue and debate. Therefore, the Aarhus School of Architecture is of course present in Allinge, where thousands of guests from across generations, professional interests, and political views come together.

This year, the Aarhus School of Architecture is hosting a debate on Thursday, June 11, from 13:15–14:00 on the Huset stage at Byggepladsen.

Debate

Welcome to the Age of Transformation!

Can reused architecture shape and connect city and countryside?

The debate on inequality in Denmark is closely linked to geography—and to myths about others' lives.
Historical welfare architecture is often the key when we transform cities and rural areas on a large scale. Now, municipalities, foundations, and consultants are raising the bar for reuse and creating a sustainable local growth platform—with promising national perspectives. The debate will focus on the democratic building blocks and research-based knowledge that shape the landscapes and cities of the age of transformation.

About Byggepladsen

The Aarhus School of Architecture is a partner at DI's ByggePladsen, which since 2024 has been the industry's platform at Folkemødet for dialogue and innovation. The five stages of the space serve as the central link between civil society, businesses, and politics, where everyone can take part in the conversation about the development of tomorrow's society. Here, the construction industry's stakeholders invite you to debates, workshops, and experiences.
